North Richland Hills, TX - Located 30 miles west of Dallas, Texas the 65,000+ residents of North Richland Hills have several new additions to the city's NRH2O Family Water Park. The $1.9 million addition to the water park completed construction June 2, 2009 and used Submittal Exchange for submitting, reviewing, and tracking shop drawings and construction submittals electronically. New attractions to the water park include: a 5,300 square foot pool with technology deck and WIFI services, white sand volleyball courts, rock wall and waterfall, and mechanical/restroom facilities to accommodate the additions.
LBL Architects, Inc., the architecture firm for the project, was established in January 1965 and provides a full range of architectural and engineering services. Located in Arlington, Texas the firm has completed 500+ projects in the community, healthcare, religious, educational, and recreational markets. "Our experience with Submittal Exchange has been very positive. We have used other online web-based project management systems, and find Submittal Exchange to be the best," stated Michael Barnard, AIA, President of LBL Architects with 30+ years of experience in the construction industry. Barnard continued, "Submittal Exchange provides project accountability be clearly stating when items are due and received in one central log."
"Submittal Exchange gives you the ability to manage and track an extremely large amount of project information without email file size limitations."
- Don Isaacs, AIA, Construction Administrator, LBL Architects, Inc.
The NRH2O 3rd Phase Attraction project team managed 500+ submittals in one central log on Submittal Exchange. "We have used electronic forms of construction communication in the past where the contractor emailed us a PDF of the submittal; we'd review it and email it back. This process was paperless, but Submittal Exchange creates a single log for both the architect and contractor to work from providing a clear record of when an item was submitted and/or reviewed," commented Barnard.
Don Isaacs, AIA, Construction Administrator for LBL Architects has 35+ years in the industry and found Submittal Exchange to be very intuitive and user-friendly throughout the project. "Submittal Exchange is a great time saver. You can electronically review shop drawings, determine the necessary action(s), stamp and upload it, and you're done with that submittal. Submittal Exchange gives you the ability to manage and track an extremely large amount of project information without email file size limitations," stated Isaacs.
"Submittal Exchange improves the speed of reviewing submittals and the overall process of exchanging documents." - Don Isaacs, AIA, Construction Administrator, LBL Architects, Inc.
With multiple projects in use on Submittal Exchange Bernard and Isaacs recommend the system to fellow construction professionals. "Submittal Exchange improves the speed of reviewing submittals and the overall process of exchanging documents. Also, the customer support has been excellent, very accessible and helpful," added Isaacs.
