Gettysburg, PA – In August 2010 construction began on the Gettysburg Hospital Additions & Alterations project in Gettysburg, PA. The owner of the project, Wellspan Health, is a community based, non-for-profit health system serving the greater Adams-York County region. The $14 million, two-phase construction project, is estimated to be complete June/July 2012 and will provide a sizeable expansion to the current Gettysburg Hospital Emergency Department. With 1,000+ submittals and other construction related documents associated with the project, team members are utilizing Submittal Exchange to submit, review, and track items electronically.
Alexander Building Construction Company, serving as the general contractor on the project, is headquartered in Harrisburg, PA with a second large field office in State College, PA. Alexander is involved in a wide-scope of projects ranging from $5-50 million in construction value, and has a 2011 scheduled volume of roughly $90 million. "Recently we have been bidding and involved with quite a few healthcare projects," stated Bernie Berninger, who is a Project Engineer with Alexander Building Construction Company.

Leach Wallace Associates, Inc., an engineering consultant on the Gettysburg Hospital Additions & Alterations project, is headquartered in Elkridge, MD with branch offices in York, PA and Charlotte, NC. The engineering firm, established in 1990, provides mechanical, electrical, energy system, and commissioning services with a focus on healthcare, institutional, commercial, industrial, and governmental projects. "Quickly being able to locate an item on Submittal Exchange is useful because you're not scrambling looking for a file on your computer or in a RFI book, it's nice to have it all there electronically," stated Lori Dropik who is a Project Electrical Engineer at Leach Wallace Associates, Inc.
